Norwood Recreation is partnering with USTA New England to run our second travel pickleball league between the towns of Needham, Norwood, Walpole, and Westwood. This league has two divisions - recreational and competitive. Each town team will be part of a four-team division and games will be played against the other teams in the division over the course of a 6-week season. Each week, players will play three 15-minute doubles games against the opposing team. Games will rotate each week between the Norwood and Westwood pickleball courts. Players will provide their paddles and USTA will provide the balls and a player gift.

Each division will have 4 teams of 9 players with 8 playing each week
First 15 minutes are a warm-up, then four rounds of 15-minute matches
Each player will get three matches per week
Teams will have a captain to set their lineup. Players can submit partner requests if they choose
USTA will host a captain’s call prior to the start of the season to go over rules, format, and scoring

Recreation Division: This league is open to all playing levels, but players must be able to serve, rally, and keep the score at a minimum. This league is more social and primarily for lower to mid-level players (2.5 to 3.5 in USAPA rating terms). The maximum playing level in this division is 3.5.

Competitive Division: This level is for higher-level players (3.5 or above in USAPA rating terms) looking for solid, more competitive matches. The minimum playing level in this division is 3.5.
